Refer a Friend and Get Rewards!
Because we have such happy customers, we get a lot of new students through referrals. Getting your child’s friends involved with the program lets them share in similar interests and makes it all that more fun. Or maybe you have friends with children that love music and may want to start learning an instrument? Either way, as a way of saying thanks, we will gift you half-month of tuition fee credit for every family you refer to us that ends up signing up!
Free instrument rental program
Concert Music School will pay for the first month rental so your child can try out an instrument with our highly qualified instructors, for example:
- Violin (1/8 to full size)
- Acoustic Guitar
- Electric Guitar
- Flute, Oboe, and other Wind instruments
Concert Music School believes true progress in music can be made only by working steadily at a program tailored to the individual student. Our private classes are tailored to meet the individual needs of the student. Lessons may vary from 30 minutes to an hour, depending upon the progress of the student.
We teach basic music fundamentals, including note reading, rhythm, singing, and how to play various instruments. Using special teaching-techniques and games, students will learn to read music quickly. Rhythmic play will include teaching small children how to keep time to the beat of the music. Teachers use various creative methods in helping your child to understand different musical terms.
Having fun at the music lesson and accomplishing certain musical goals usually makes students eager to learn more. Of course, each student progresses at his or her own pace but practice is essential for progress and keeps the music lessons fun and exciting.
We teach a variety of vocal styles, including classical, musical theatre, opera, popular music, and song writing. A portion of lesson time each week is devoted to exercises that are designed to help students improve their vocal range, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation, projection, and more. Students will work on expanding their repertoire, selecting their own songs, with the teacher's help and recommendation.
Violin - Cello
Our string teachers are well qualified to teach from beginners up to advanced and adult students. We also have violin classes for children as young as 3 year old using the Suzuki method. Teachers will also work with students who wish to join the school or local orchestra to prepare for auditions.
Our piano teachers have experiece teaching from very young students up to retired adults, and they teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whatever your favorite style of music, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. You will learn the correct technique, fundamental music theory, and sight reading. You do not have to have a piano at home to take lessons. A simple full size electronic keyboard will suffice for the first 6 months. Our piano teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for the piano with you.
Our guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country, bluegrass, and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading, and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.
Ukulele is a great choice of instrument for younger children who are interested in learning a stringed instrument. With two fewer strings than the guitar and a shorter fretboard, it can be easier to play. Its nylon strings are also easier on the fingers. Our ukulele teachers will personalize their lesson plans to suit your learning style and preferences.
We find that piano, guitar, and violin are our most popular instruments. If something else is your style, say, flute, bass, viola, or saxophone maybe, we'd be happy to help. Just contact us for more information.
Recitals boost confidence! Taking part in a recital helps performers to overcome shyness, fear, anxiety and stage fright. It gives students a chance to showcase all of their hard work, dedication, and progress throughout the year. As children experience getting on stage, performing for an audience, and being applauded for their efforts, they gain self-confidence that will carry with them in all aspects of school and life.
At Concert Music School, we offer a variety of opportunities for our students to perform in a confidence-boosting and supportive setting. We have 2 recitals every year, our Annual Recital in the Spring and a Winter Recital at the end of the year to showcase our students' progress. Students will also receive a trophy at the annual recital.
In addition to annual recitals held at an outside venue, we hold mini-recital at Recital Hall of the school. This will give our students many more performance opportunities throughout the year. We always make sure that students get to perform on a grand piano. For our students these recitals are free.
Frequently asked questions
What do you learn in your music lessons?
That question is often asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals.
We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach.
A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty-seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child.
The main reason to choose our school as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.
If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first lesson your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.
What styles of music do you teach?
We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical.
Are your instructors qualified?
Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as California State University of Long Beach, Brigham Young University (Idaho), BAKIP Linz (Austria), and many others. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the US and Europe and have over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level.
